Elma Carlson 2AB	Beginning Chip carving: This Monday and Tuesday class will present not only basic cuts but also a through overview of chip carving from the beginning of a project to the finishing. Instructor will furnish blanks, patterns and tracing paper. Cost is $75. Student should bring chip carving knife, rubber cement, pen, scissors. Additional helpful items: light and magnifying glasses.

Elma Carlson 2C	Wednesday class, Carve a beautiful 6” Candle dish; cost is $40, material is included in class fee. Student should bring chip carving knife, rubber cement, pen, scissors. Additional helpful items: light and magnifying glasses.

Elma Carlson 2D	Thursday class, Carve a beautiful 6” Candle dish; cost is $40, material is included in class fee. Student should bring chip carving knife, rubber cement, pen, scissors. Additional helpful items: light and magnifying glasses.

Toby and Elaine Craft 3ABC	Three day class, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Carve a life size Baltimore Oriole, Bluebird, or Cardinal. Cost of class is $50, cost of materials that include blank, base, eyes, feet, paint and habitat is $30—$35. Student should bring dremel, wood burner, normal carving tools, small drum sander, small blunt end (safe) diamond bit.

Toby and Elaine Craft 3DEF	Three day class, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Carve a life size Baltimore Oriole, Bluebird, or Cardinal. Cost of class is $50, cost of materials that include blank, base, eyes, feet, paint and habitat is $30—$35. Juan DeLeon 4A, B, C, D, E, or F	Carving an eagle head or other cane top. Class is a one day class, you may choose any day Monday—Saturday Cost $35.00 per day. Blanks provided by instructor @ $15..00. Skill level B-I-A. Tools needed knife and gouges.

Lee Eisenschenk 5ABC	Miniature Butternut Canada Goose with eyes, carved and wood burned feather detail. Cost $90.00 for three day class, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; and $20.00 for blank. Instructor will furnish stains and finishes to complete the project. Student should bring Knife, palm tools with small v tools & gouges, sand paper 120—430 grit, wood burner, and light.

Lee Eisenschenk 5DEF	Black Bear on Rocks 5” X 7” Basswood rough out, cost of class is $90.00 for the three day class , Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; and $25.00 for the blank. Instructor will furnish stains and finishes to complete the project. Student should bring Knife, palm tools with small v tools & gouges, sand paper 120—430 grit, wood burner, and light

John Engler 6ABC	This three day class, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be a lesson on medium relief carving. Beginning intermediate and advance carvers are welcome. A wide variety of subject matter will be available from architectural ( i.e. barns, cabins, and watermills) to animal ( i.e. Cougars, bears, elk, and wolves). Class cost $115. No drawing is required, a 9” X 12”, 11” X 14”, or 12” X 16” board will be available as well as ovals and basswood with the bark. Prices will vary from $27— $35. Students should have #3 chisels of all sizes ( 1/4” to 1 1/2”), Skews, a #1 3/4” flat chisel, V tools and vieners. A non refundable deposit of $20 is required at registration for this class, please send a separate check for $20 payable to John Engler and a postage stamped envelop, we will address the envelop and forward your deposit to the instructor.

Dee Gipson 7ABC	This three day class on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be a power carving class of creating different types of limbs, logs, leaves, rocks and bases that that will help in designing the habitat for a bird and /or animal. You will need a dust collector, mask, power rotary tools and burrs. A wood burner with a selection of pens. Hand tools and a sharp knife. The cost of the class is $60.00 plus $10.00 for materials.

Dee Gipson 7DEF	This three day class on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will teach you the art of carving animals in motion. This class is not a power carving class. You will use a micro power tool to do small detail only. Bring your hand tools and a sharp knife. The cost will be $75.00 rough out included.

Bob Gorczyca 8A, C or E	This one day Intro to carving class held on Monday, Wednesday or Friday will cover safety, tool use, types of wood, basic cuts, cutout layout, and reading wood grains. Students will complete a project during class. The instructor will furnish wood, cutouts, and have some tools that student may use. The student should bring: 1. bench knife (a xacto knife with #11 blade is also OK). 2. small U gouge 3. small V tool. Fernando Gutierrez 9A-F	High speed (air driven) power relief Carving in Mesquite, antler, egg, gun stock, ebony and inlay work.. 1 day classes Monday —Saturday: Cost $70.00 per day if you furnish your own equipment; $125 if you use the instructors equipment. Sign-up for one or multiple days. Blanks will be available for purchase. Many patterns to chose from. Instructor will provide bits, dust collector, dust mask, air supply and lights. Student tools needed: high speed air tool or Dremel / Foredoom. Skill Level B-I-A

Don Hartt 10A-F	The Fancy Walking cane Class will be from 3 to 5 days depending on the student. The cost of the class will be $25.00 per day plus blanks from $55.00—$75.00. I will have blanks with different patterns for the student to pick from. I will be bringing extra cane blanks available for anyone who would like one. Once friend and relatives see your completed cane they will want you to make them one. They do make great gifts that can be enjoyed for years to come. Gen Kreyling 11A,B,C,D,E or F	Pyrography: Skill level:B-I-A. Class cost $30.00 per day. Take any combination of 1—6 days of Pyrography ( wood burning ). Beginning projects will require at least one day while more advanced projects can be completed with additional days. Beginners are welcome any day or can come back for more on a daily basis. Beginners will learn the basic techniques of wood burning with emphasis on why the different techniques work. More advanced students can choose a project, bring a pattern of their own, or make a pattern from a book on my copier and work on it for 1 day or throughout the week. Project price range from $1.00—$20.00. If you have a specific project that you would like to do, please bring it with you. Tools required: wood burner ( will have my preferred burners and pens for sale), graphite paper, red ink pen, clear ruler, pencil, and eraser. A light is helpful. Instructor will provide beginning board and project. Burners, pens, graphite paper and red ink pens will be available for sale.

Tom Kreyling 12AB or 12DE	2 two day classes Monday—Tuesday and Thursday—Friday. Cost $60.00 per 2 day class. Skill level B-I-A. Learn to carve letters with a chip carving knife. Then carve a name sign for your home or RV. Techniques learned can also be applied to free form chip carving on other projects. Practice board and sign—$20.00. Tools needed: Chip carving knife and pencil. Optional helpful aids will be a light, a 12” - 18” clear ruler, and a 10” - 16” lazy susan (turn table).

Tom Kreyling 12C or 12F	2—one day classes. Wednesday or Saturday. Cost $30.00 each day. Skill level B-I-A. Relief carving on sign from above lettering classes. Tools needed: Chip carving knife and pencil.

Mart Lind 13ABC	Learn to carve a powerful realistic face—carve an Indian, a mountain man or spirit face in butternut. Emphasis will be given to expression presentation. Cost of this three day class, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be $90. Instructor will have some tools for a small fee, He will supply all paints, brushes, stains, and waxes. Student should have a variety of mallet tools, mallet and holding device. Wood and rough out cost range from $15—$40.

Mart Lind 13DEF	Carve a delightful snowman as a reminder of why we leave the North country for the valley. You may carve a skiing or skating snowman or do both. Instructor will supply all paints, brushes, stains, and waxes. Student should have a variety of palm tool. Wood and rough out for this project will be $40. or less.

Wanda Marsh 14ABC	Items offered to carve in class will include sun perch, cardinal, or flowers( i.e. Morning glory, rose, hibiscus, star gazer lily, pansies or magnolia). The length of time it will take to carve each of these items will vary depending on the item chosen. Monday—Wednesday class will cost $105.00; material cost will be $10.00—$50.00. Instructor will furnish lights, dust collectors and paints. Student required tools are Dremel or Foredom power tool with bits, and paint brushes Only one non refundable deposit of $25 is required at registration for any or all of Wanda’s classes, please send a separate check for $25 payable to Wanda Marsh and a postage stamped envelop, we will address the envelop and forward your deposit to the instructor.

Stu Martin 15 AB, CD, or EF	These three two day classes Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday or Friday and Saturday are offered on carving realistic faces on over 75 pieces to select from– Indians, Mountain Men, and Santas. Stu has over 24 years teaching experience with one on one instruction with each student. Each two day class will cost $100.00; blanks will be available at a cost of $7.00—$35.00. Students should bring the normal hand tools. Only one non refundable deposit of $25 is required at registration for any or all of Stu’s classes, please send a separate check for $25 payable to Stu Martin and a postage stamped envelop, we will address the envelop and forward your deposit to the instructor.

Donna Menke 16 ABC	This three day class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday you will carve and paint a realistic full size humming bird, the wings and tail feathers will be inserted. Student should bring normal small hand carving knivies, gouges and burning tool. Instructor will furnish all material and paint. Cost of class is $115.00 and includes all materials.

Donna Menke 16D	This one day class on Thursday you will completely carve and paint a Swallowtail Butterfly pin Student should bring normal small hand carving knives, gouges and burning tool. Instructor will furnish all material and paint. Cost of class is $35.00 and includes all materials.

Donna Menke 16E	This Friday one day class in Natural finished hardwood Jewelry you will completely carve and finish a cherry wood dragonfly Pin. Student should bring normal small hand carving knives, gouges and burning tool. Instructor will furnish all material and finishes.. Cost of class is $45.00 and includes all materials.

Ken Ramler 17ABC	Choice of : Butternut Fish ( sunfish, crappie ), painted pileated woodpecker, or butternut owl(Great Horned or Barn). Three day class Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Cost is $90.00. One blank included. Skill level: B-I-A. Instructor will furnish one blank, paint and finish: driftwood, for mounting will be available for extra cost. Tools needed: small and medium carving tools, wood burner.

Ken Ramler 17DE	Butternut Great Horned Owl, or three piece (Moose-tree-rock) carving from butternut and basswood. Two day class Thursday and Friday. Cost $60.00; blank and finishes included. Skill level: B-I-A. Small and medium carving tools needed.

Patty Rucker 18A	Wood burning- One day class Monday cost $40. Skill level: B-I-A. All supplies needed to learn the soft shading technique will be provided- such as instruction sheets, practice panels, patterns, transfer paper and sand paper. Boards, boxes and plates will be available for purchase if so desired for a project. Oil pencils and acrylics will be available if a student wants to add color. A copier will be provided to make patterns from books or from an image you want to Woodburn. Although I like the soft shading technique with a photographic look, students are encouraged to use any style of wood burning they like. You will need a wood burner and tips.

Patty Rucker 18B	Wood burning- One day class Tuesday (See above).

Patty Rucker 18C	Sculpting the Figure for Woodcarving- One day class Wednesday cost $45. Skill level: B-I-A All supplies (Super Sculpey, wire, sculpting tools, and instruction sheets) are provided. Extra Super Sculpey will be available for sale. Students will make a wire figure 7" tall. Students can use the wire figure to design the action they want to capture in wood. The figure will be covered with Super Sculpey and baked for a finished project. Rough outs can be made from the finished figure. Patty Rucker 18D	Scrimshaw- one day class Thursday, cost $40. Skill level: B-I-A. All supplies are provided to learn the art of etching images on surfaces such as plastic, bone, or ivory. Using Plexiglas, you will learn to etch a design using a pattern, fill the etching with oil or ink and remove the excess. This method is repeated until you have a beautiful image. Scrimshaw is used for knife handles, pendants, or any smooth surface needing decoration. You will need to bring a good light and a magnifier of some type to this class..

Steve Schoolar 19ABC	Portrait Carving: In this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday class students will learn the techniques needed to carve an exact portrait. In class students will carve a portrait relief of an Indian. Students are encouraged to bring photos of a portrait project they plan in the future. All work is relief and done from photographs. Standard carving tools are needed for this class. All supplies are included in the class fee of $100.00. Steve Schoolar 19D	Block printing: In this Thursday Class students will carve a scene or line drawing on bass wood, this will be inked and placed into a hand press and printed on both paper and cloth. The student should be able to complete more than one carving and print in a class. Skill level is B-I-A. The cost of this class is $40.00 and a supply fee of $5.00 for ink, paper, and wood. Steve Schoolar 19EF	Beginning Relief: In this 2 day class on Friday and Saturday students will learn the basic principles and techniques of relief carving. In class they will carve and finish an 8” X10” relief of a scene depicting an old well. Skill level Beginning. Elaine and Fred Stenman 20 ABC or DEF	Low Relief Carving - In this two classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday or Thursday, Friday and Saturday; Students will learn the techniques developed by Elaine and Fred that combine low relief carving with details that are woodburned. The Carvings are painted with acrylics and stained with oil paint. Tool techniques for full sized gouges and woodburning tools along with elements of design will be taught as students execute first a small (6"x9") practice piece which is just woodburned and painted (no carving). This will be followed by the project piece (approx. 9"x15") which has the main design elements relief carved and the details woodburned. Students may select from the Stenmans' original designs including an old barn or cabin with a wooded setting and wild life details. The projects will be executed in basswood with bark remaining on the edges to create a natural frame. The basswood, paints and brushes are provided. The instructors have some woodburners for use. Low Relief Carving Suggested Tool List 1) #3-35mm Swiss Made is preferred, but the Flex cut #220799 1 ¼” #3 is a good large gouge for this purpose. Other gouges can be used. You may need to have a #4 to get the same sweep as the Swiss Made #3. 2) #3 sweep gouges in various sizes 10-20mm. 3) A thin bladed bench knife 4) Various other size gouges, palm or full size that you may have. 5) Clamp on light. - If at all possible bring your 0wn light. 6) Padded 22"-24" stool- (Important item for comfort). 7) A good woodburning tool. Detailer, Detailmaster, or Colwood are preferred, but a Hot Tool has some uses. Instructors will bring some large #3 gouges and wood burning units for use in class. Class Fees: The cost of the class is $95.00 per student per class. This includes the wood and paints for both projects. We will also have extra gouges and woodburners to share. Skill level –B-I-A.

Herb Teesdale 21ABC or 21DEF	Herb is offering 2 three day Classes, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Both classes will offer the following project: A lion Bust, a snarling Wolf or a wall mounted Elk Head, additional projects available will be a caricature dog( blood hound) and bear busts. Skill level is B-I-A. Student should have hand tools, wood burner and paint brushes. Cost of class is $100.00, material cost $15.00 to $35.00.

Jim Thalacker 22ABCD	During this 4 day class, Student will carve stone, and burn on a blank or rough out on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday students will paint their carved Elf owl or their Elf owl casting. Skill level B - I- A. The cost of this class is $120.00, material cost of $30.00 for Blank or rough out, a full size cast of the Elf owl, paints and Glass eyes. Student should bring color photos, table light, wood burner and tips, carving tools and knife, paint brushes, base and mount to place owl on (i.e. wood carved rock, wall mount branch, carved saguaro cactus). Jim Thalacker 22E or F	This one day class on either Friday or Saturday will offer acrylic and oil painting techniques including; washes, wet blending, dry brushing, feather flicking and tapping in feather ends. The understanding of feather colors and how to apply them, color values and intensity.Cost of class is $30.00, material cost is $10.00. Instructor will furnish paint, glass palatte plate, paper towels, wash cup, resin casting containing feather groups, beak, bills, quills and tag board. Instructor will also have for sale some good quality Kolinsky red sable brushes and extra casted resin boards. Student should bring Hair dryer, light, extension cord, metal palette knife, good teklon liner brush 00, 0/1 or 0/2, a good red sable cats tongue (Filbert) size 2, 4, 6, and rounds size 2, 4,and 6. Jim Trumpy 23ABC	This will be a three day power carving class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for all skill levels. Class cost of $100.00 which includes the blank, eyes, feet paint and reference photos. Student must bring basic power tools, wood burner, paint supplies and dust collector.

Jim Trumpy 23E or 23F	Instructor is offering 2 one day class Friday or Saturday on habitat and mounting. You will be making branches, sticks, leaves, rocks and things to mount your carvings on. Cost of class is $30.00 per day. The instructor will have kits available to assemble, cost of kits is $3.00 and up. Students should bring basic power tools, wood burner, butane torch, tin snipes, solder, burnishing tools and holding devices.

Sam Wilson 24 C, D, E	1” X 1” X 3” in caricature- cost $15.00 per day. Class is one day class offered on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Caricatures in a block of wood that is 1" X 1" x 3". Instructor will furnish supplies. Student needs a knife, palm tools and cut resistant glove.
